This afternoon I went out to photograph Oakland take on St. Clair in a doubleheader. It was nice day out so I tried to use the light and “play” with it a little bit. I also wanted to capture the nice blue sky against the green grass or the the dirt to get the contrast of the two colors.

I was able to photograph the Oakland CC Invitational today. As luck would have it, it happened to be the coldest day of the week. It was cold enough for snow, and there was for sure snow. There were only a couple of minutes of sunlight before the clouds came overhead. With the couple of minutes of sunlight I had before the round started, I was able to get the above picture of an Oakland golfer on the driving range.
For my second playoff game of the week I headed down to Perrysburg, Ohio where Oakland’s women’s team was playing in the regional tournament. Despite the drive, I was all for going down. I wanted to shoot in a different gym and have my first out of state job.
Although it is my winter break this week, it is far from a break for me. I have the opportunity to shoot about four or five games this week, but I will probably only do two games. I also am planning on a portrait session later in the week.
The basketball season is ending very soon, then it will be playoffs. I enjoy it, but spring can’t come fast enough. I am really looking forward to my busy schedule of photographing baseball, softball, and golf this spring. I also have some really big plans that I hope all work out.
It is that time of year! Basketball games, rivalry teams, and one undefeated team. This time it was at the college level. I know it wasn’t UNC or some powerhouse team, but it is still college basketball! Anyways, I was lucky enough to photograph the games. I will post about the women’s game first, and then the men’s game.
