Henry Ford at Oakland | Tim Fuller Photography | Blog

Henry Ford at Oakland

It is that time of year!   Basketball games, rivalry teams, and one undefeated team.  This time it was at the college level.  I know it wasn’t UNC or some powerhouse team, but it is still college basketball!  Anyways, I was lucky enough to photograph the games.   I will post about the women’s game first, and then the men’s game.

This was actually my first time photographing college sports, although I have already done professional sports.  How does that work out? I don’t know, but I am not asking.  I am perfectly fine with it!

The first thing I did after “checking in” was go photograph the sign and media truck outside.

After that I shot a little bit of both teams warming up.

Soon after, they played the National Anthem and announced the starting lineups.

The game started and the battle was on.

The Raiders took an early lead.

Defense was a help to their win.

The Hawk’s coach was not happy with the way things were going.

They even were running into each other.

With seconds left in the game the Hawk’s try to catch up with three pointers, but had no luck.

Below is just some random shot that I took and like.

Now for the men’s game.  They had a very exciting game.  The Hawks were undefeated coming into this game and the Raiders would have been more than happy to put an end to the Hawk’s winning streak, but in OT the Hawk’s found a way to pull it off.

Once again I started to shoot a little during warm ups. When I saw the men’s team standing around like this it kind of looked like a band type photo to me so I snapped a shot.

Below a Raiders player stretches as he watches the Hawks warm up.

The picture below is of a coach watching his team warm up.  Nothing special was done to it in post production, the only photoshop I did to it was crop it and decrease the brightness just a tad.

Next came the starting lineups.

We were set to go for tip off.

The game stayed pretty close the whole way through.

The picture below is of a player passing the ball in as the ref watches.  Again nothing special was done to it in post production, the only photoshop I did to it was crop it and decrease the brightness just a tad.

These guys battled it out and ended up waiting to see what the ref thought of it all.

The game continued on.

The coaches were very much in to it all.

As I said before, the game was close the whole way through.  The first picture below is at the end of the second half. The Raiders had the lead, but they just couldn’t keep it for the remaining time and the game went in to overtime.

In OT.

In the end the Hawk’s defense won the came for them, 106-101.

You have now almost finished my longest blog post.  Thanks!  But I have to say one last thing.  I would like to thank Woodward Camera for their help with hooking me up with a new camera.  They are nice people  and they know their stuff.
