Last week I had the opportunity to photograph the Oakland Community College Invitational at Pontiac Country Club. It was a wet, cold, windy day but the golfers braved the conditions. Here are a few pictures from the day. Enjoy!

Last night I was blessed to photograph the Oakland Community College Raiders as they hosted the Macomb Community College Monarchs in Auburn Hills, MI. After an hour delay, due to road conditions, the women took the court first and battled it out. The men were up next and when the night was over Macomb had taken a game and Oakland had taken a game.
While photographing the game it hit me that it has been four years this month since I began working with the athletic staff at OCC. Those four years have flown by and I am very grateful to be able to work with everyone there. I hope that we are able to continue and have much success in the future, but for now I hope you all enjoy some of the pictures from last night.
I recently covered a softball game for Oakland Community College as they hosted St. Clair County Community College in a double header. The weather made for some unique softball pictures since at times it was snowing. Also, I was feeling a bit creative and came up with some different types of shots. Enjoy!
Last week has been a super busy week. Busy can be a good thing, though. I was blessed to have the opportunity to be able to photograph four basketball games, take four exams, and write a ethnographic report. With all this craziness, I still wanted to share some of the photos from the basketball games. The first game was at The Palace of Auburn Hills as the Detroit Pistons hosted the New Orleans Hornets. The second game was again at The Palace as the Detroit Pistons hosted the Washington Wizards. Then the last two games were at Oakland Community College as the men’s and women’s teams hosted Mott Community College.
It is that time of year again, basketball season! I am really looking forward to it since basketball is one of my favorite sports to photograph. Having played three years in high school I really enjoy the game and have a good understanding of it, which helps when photographing it.
Last week I was blessed to be able to work with Oakland Community College and their athletic staff as we worked to capture portraits of the athletes. The athletes were awesome to work with! They were eager and excited to take the pictures! Here are a few from the shoot.
Earlier this week I was blessed to be able to cover Oakland Community College’s volleyball team at their new facility in Auburn Hills. Being the head athletic photographer there and not having too many rules that I need to follow allows me to have greater access during the events. Since that is the case, I try to shoot from a variety of angles that I normally wouldn’t be able to shoot from. One example is the picture above. Below are a few more from their matches and be sure to check out the rest of the images right here!
This past weekend I photographed a doubleheader as Oakland Community College hosted Macomb Community College. Macomb CC came from behind to win the first game in extra innings before again winning the second game. Here are a few pictures from the day.
The winter that we had, or lack there of, was very mild compared to most winters here in Michigan. When we had record breaking temps back in March I was able to get my first round of golf under my belt for the year. Today, I was able to photograph my first golf tournament of the year, which was the Oakland Community College Invitational. Being the athletic photographer at Oakland CC I have photographed this tournament the previous two years and those two years consisted of golf, rain, snow, and some more rain. Not the most enjoyable weather. However, today was awesome! Sun, more sun, and even more sun made for a really enjoyable time and some nice light. Here are some pictures. They are all black and white but were shot in color and converted. Also, be sure to see who got a little hungry during the tournament. Hope you enjoy!
March is an awesome time of year. We get to bump our clocks ahead an hour which means there is more sunlight in the evening, and that is something I love. It also means that we get an extra hour of sleep in the fall. I know it is tough now because we lose an hour, but just think of that hour you will get in the fall!
March also brings the greatest basketball there is. March Madness is just plain awesome! However, that means basketball is wrapping up and there won’t be much more basketball to shoot. This is something that I don’t like. For me, basketball is one of my favorite sports to photograph. I am not sure why though. Maybe it is because I played for three years in high school or maybe it is because I have photographed more basketball than any other sport. Whatever the reason is, I was blessed to be able to shoot three games in a little over twenty-four hours this past weekend. I photographed my last Oakland Community College basketball game for the year, which unfortunately was their last game also since they did not move on to nationals. The other two games were the Pistons’ games as they hosted Toronto and Atlanta .
