Playoff Basketball: Lakeland vs. Oakland

For my second playoff game of the week I headed down to Perrysburg, Ohio where Oakland’s women’s team was playing in the regional tournament. Despite the drive, I was all for going down. I wanted to shoot in a different gym and have my first out of state job.

I shot the quarter final game where Oakland, the third seed, was up against Lakeland, the second seed. With that said, I knew it certainly was going to be a very good game.

Since it was my first time shooting there I arrived pretty early. I wanted to make sure I had time to find the right place and get my pass. I also wanted to familiarize myself with the gym to see what angles I could get. By the time warm ups started I had some ideas. I ended up shooting from up top for the beginning, and then I worked my way down to the floor.

Some team spirit before the game.

Tip off

Oakland had the team spirit and was fired up.

It was a tough game all the way through.

Oakland battled through it all.

The game was close the whole way through. With just seconds left it was tied, but in the end it came down to the last 0.3 seconds. Oakland had the ball and Lakeland’s nightmare came true, a foul.

The foul.

Oakland’s reaction to the foul.

The game winning shot.
