This past Thanksgiving I was blessed to be able to photograph the Detroit Lions as they hosted the Chicago Bears in the annual Thanksgiving Day game at Ford Field in Detroit, MI. I arrived early and walked a few blocks over to checkout the Turkey Trot followed by America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Here are a few images. Enjoy!
As a photographer granted access to the prestigious USBC Masters tournament held at Thunderbowl Lanes, I knew I needed to focus on capturing the emotions of the bowlers, including their expressions of triumph or defeat, as well as high-fives and other celebratory gestures. Along with the action on the lanes, I captured the atmosphere of the tournament by taking photos of the fans, scoreboard, and ambiance of Thunderbowl Lanes. Overall, with the right gear, lighting, and techniques, I was able to capture some amazing images of the world’s best bowlers in action and hope these tips can help you capture equally amazing photos at your next sporting event.
