On Thanksgiving I was able to take part in two of Detroit’s Thanksgiving Day traditions. The first was the America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade which goes down Woodward. People line the street from Mid-Town to Downtown to watch the bands, floats and entertainers march down the street.
After the parade had finished, the Detroit Lions hosted the Minnesota Vikings at Ford Field with this year’s halftime show featuring Jason Derulo. Below are some of the images from the day. Enjoy!
Recently I was able to photograph the Detroit Red Wings as they hosted the Pittsburgh Penguins at the all new Little Caesars Arena in Downtown Detroit. I was very eager to see the new arena and learn what it had to offer. It is very large and offers a great variety to fans. For photographers, it offered new LED lighting which is very nice.
During their week three matchup, the Detroit Lions hosted the Atlanta Falcons at Ford Field. Like any NFL game I cover, I arrived early to beat the traffic. The way I look at it is, I’d rather leave early and sit in the stadium being productive than leaving later and get caught in traffic.
