How could it be any better? Photography, Hockey, 11/11/11, Veterans Day! This was the case last Friday. I was able to photograph the Edmonton Oilers as they took on the Detroit Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena in downtown Detroit. To add to the great day, Jimmy Howard had his third shutout of the season. Below are a few images from the game and be sure to check out more by clicking here.

This past weekend I was fortune enough to photograph the final game of the 2011 Big Ten Men’s Soccer Championship at the University of Michigan. The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Northwestern Wildcats were the two teams competing for the title. It was a very enjoyable game, it was a very windy day but the rain stayed away until after the game! In the end though, the Wildcats came out on top. Below are a few images from the game and here are some more.
Lately I haven’t been able to blog as much as I would like too. It is just hard to sit down and find time to actually blog. I have been super busy shooting for Oakland Community College and US Presswire. Today thought, I would like to share some pictures from the 2011 NJCAA Division II Volleyball Regional Championship at Grand Rapids Community College. Oakland Community College played Owens Community College for the title and they came out on top and will be heading to Nationals! Here are a few pictures and if you would like to purchase some please click here.

I haven’t been blogging lately just because I am having trouble finding the time to sit down and write a little something. However, I did want to share a little bit with you today. I have recently started shooting for Oakland Community College Athletics again. The first sport that is in season for them is volleyball. Volleyball is not a sport that I photograph too often but when I got a chance to, I accepted the challenge to try something a little bit out of the norm for me and see what I could come up with.
For a long time I have been wanting to shoot some portraits of athletes so that I could add athletic portraits to my portfolio. I was not hired to take this. The reason why I did this is because you have to make your portfolio. We all need to get out there and just shoot! […]
Last week I headed over to Grand Valley State University in Allendale, MI. GVSU was the host of the 2011 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championship. I had the opportunity to cover one day of the tournament for Grand Canyon University. GCU’s Tiffany Hewetson from Brighton, England was in the individual tournament. While shooting for […]
Last week I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph the NCAA Bowling Championship at Skore Lanes in Taylor, MI. It was a three day event and I was photographing it for four of the eight colleges that were there. Those schools were Fairleigh Dickinson University, Vanderbilt University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore, and Kutztown University. Out of those four teams, three of them made it to the final four, and two of those teams made it to the title match. Needless to say I was pretty busy, but thankfully I was able to have fellow photographer, Marek Dziekonski, come out to help me for a little bit. Here are a few photos from the tournament.
I love this time of year. The weather is so nice out and what better way to get outdoors and shoot some softball. Being that baseball was the first sport I started photographing, I always enjoy going out to shoot some baseball and/or softball. I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph Oakland CC […]
Golf is one of the sports that I enjoy photographing the most even if it is raining the whole time and the temperature is only in the low 40’s. This was the case for the Oakland CC Invitational at Pontiac Country Club. You have to love Michigan weather!
NOTE: I want to apologize for covering my images with watermarks that cover the whole image. However, I have no other choice since I have seen my pictures appearing in various spots without my permission.
I photographed my last basketball game for Oakland CC’s 2010-2011 season last week. The game was held at Oakland CC’s Highland Lake campus where the Delta College Pioneers, from the Midland/Bay City area, took on the Raiders. The Oakland CC Raiders won the game, but it wasn’t an easy one. It was a very close game and both the Pioneers and the Raiders led at different parts of the game. With just seconds left in the game the score was 82-82. Oakland CC’s #1, Daniel McClendon, drove and kicked it out to the corner where Richard Hill, #14, was open for a three pointer, which he hit with just 1.1 seconds left. It was a lot of fun to be there photographing it and it was an awesome game. But wait, it gets better. Tomorrow, 3/1/2011, Delta will travel back down to play Oakland CC again. This time it is playoffs. The two teams will be playing each other in the first round of the MCCAA Tournament. That game is sure to be another fun one.
