I recently covered a softball game for Oakland Community College as they hosted St. Clair County Community College in a double header. The weather made for some unique softball pictures since at times it was snowing. Also, I was feeling a bit creative and came up with some different types of shots. Enjoy!

Bowling is not something that gets as much attention in the sports world as other sports do. However, every once in a while you may see a PBA event on ESPN or some other channel. Over the last couple of months I have found myself covering quite a bit of bowling. It all started two years ago when I covered the 2011 NCAA Bowling Championship at Skore Lanes in Taylor, MI. Then, after that, the PBA found me and asked me to cover their Detroit Winter Swing. Recently, I found myself once again covering the 2013 NCAA Bowling Championship. This time it was at Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, MI.
This past weekend I was blessed to be able to shoot the Columbus Blue Jackets as they took on the Detroit Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena in Detroit. For this game I wanted to set up an overhead remote, so I was sure to arrive extra early. When setting up a remote there are a few essentials that I use.
Last week has been a super busy week. Busy can be a good thing, though. I was blessed to have the opportunity to be able to photograph four basketball games, take four exams, and write a ethnographic report. With all this craziness, I still wanted to share some of the photos from the basketball games. The first game was at The Palace of Auburn Hills as the Detroit Pistons hosted the New Orleans Hornets. The second game was again at The Palace as the Detroit Pistons hosted the Washington Wizards. Then the last two games were at Oakland Community College as the men’s and women’s teams hosted Mott Community College.
It has been a hard task to keep up with blogging while also going to school. As much as I want to get to it, school has to come first. Today though, I did want to share a recent event that I photographed for the Professional Bowlers Association (PBA) as they came to Detroit. The event took place over an entire week, however I was just there for the last two days as ESPN was filming their shows. The actual event took place at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, MI.
Where do I even begin? I have been blessed so much this year! I have been blessed with my family and with the friendships that have grown, as well as the new friendships I have made. I have been able to further my education and have been able to do a job I love.
Earlier this week I was blessed to be able to photograph the Detroit Pistons as they hosted the Golden State Warriors at The Palace of Auburn Hills. I always look forward to photographing basketball and it is one of my favorite sports to photograph. It is always a nice way to break away from school and have a good time working. This game was a very close game and the Pistons came up short as the Warriors won by just 7 points. Please, be sure to check out the rest of the images right here.
This past weekend I was blessed to be able to cover the Detroit Pistons as they hosted the Boston Celtics at The Palace of Auburn Hills. The Pistons were able to get their first home victory of the season as they defeated the Celtics 103-83. Be sure to check the rest of the photos right here, which include the sequence of Will Bynum’s dunk and Jay Sean performing during halftime.
A few weeks ago I was blessed to be able to photograph the NBA Preseason as the Atlanta Hawks took on the Detroit Pistons at The Palace of Auburn Hills. This was a start to a very busy weekend for me which consisted of this game, the World Series, and one NFL game. Please, be sure to check out more pictures right here.
It is that time of year again, basketball season! I am really looking forward to it since basketball is one of my favorite sports to photograph. Having played three years in high school I really enjoy the game and have a good understanding of it, which helps when photographing it.
