Last week I was able to photograph all the team portraits and individual portraits for the Oakland Community College Raiders men’s and women’s basketball team. We had two different setups for this shoot. We moved through the first one and then switched to the second setup. Be sure to read on and see the setups. Enjoy!

After what seemed like a never ending winter, this week has turned out to be a very nice one. In the past week I have been able to get out and work in this great weather. I have enjoyed being able to do so! Recently I was able to photograph the Oakland Community College Invitational at Pontiac Country Club. The day was gorgeous and it was great to be back on the links. Enjoy!
This past weekend I went out to Ann Arbor to photograph the Michigan Wolverines as the football team held their annual spring game at Michigan Stadium. The last time I was at the Big House it was snowing and about 50 degrees cooler, so I was delighted that this time was much warmer and sunnier. Here are some of the pictures from the nice sunny day out in Ann Arbor. Enjoy!
Recently the University of Toledo was hosting the first and second rounds of the NCAA’s Women’s Basketball Tournament. When I saw that the Vanderbilt Commodores would be heading up from Nashville, TN, I sent a quick email to the SID at Vandy. Over the years I have had the opportunity to build up a relationship with the athletic staff there. In the past I have gotten to know the SID through covering the NCAA Bowling Championship for them in 2013 and 2011. So, when he said he needed a photographer, I was glad to be able to have another opportunity to work with them once again.

Monday morning I received an email from my editor asking if I was interested in covering the Horizon League Tournament championship game the next day. I was open and thought it would be a great chance to shoot some college basketball, something that I don’t shoot that often. With little time to waste, I had to plan my trip. Luckily I was able to find a hotel nearby that was not already booked full for the night. I made the trip down to Dayton, OH and arrived early to check into my hotel. After checking in, I made my way over to Wright State University. The game was held at WSU’s Nutter Center in Dayton. The Wright State Raiders were hosting the Milwaukee Panthers in this important match up, with the winner guaranteed a spot in the big dance. Here are some of the images from Milwaukee’s win. Enjoy!

Earlier this week I was able to shoot Sophomore Night for the Oakland Community College athletic department. Wayne County Community College District was in Auburn Hills to take on the Raiders. The first game was the women’s game and then the men were set to play after. The two schools ended up taking one game each, with the men winning by a basket in the last few seconds. Here are some unique perspectives I came up with and a few game action shots.
Please note that you can click on any of the picture to see more images from the game. Enjoy!
As the athletic photographer at Oakland Community College my job entails a wide variety of photo coverage. I find myself shooting game action, banquets and portraits. Most recently I photographed the softball and golf team portraits for their upcoming seasons.
Last night I was blessed to photograph the Oakland Community College Raiders as they hosted the Macomb Community College Monarchs in Auburn Hills, MI. After an hour delay, due to road conditions, the women took the court first and battled it out. The men were up next and when the night was over Macomb had taken a game and Oakland had taken a game.
While photographing the game it hit me that it has been four years this month since I began working with the athletic staff at OCC. Those four years have flown by and I am very grateful to be able to work with everyone there. I hope that we are able to continue and have much success in the future, but for now I hope you all enjoy some of the pictures from last night.
I recently covered a softball game for Oakland Community College as they hosted St. Clair County Community College in a double header. The weather made for some unique softball pictures since at times it was snowing. Also, I was feeling a bit creative and came up with some different types of shots. Enjoy!
Bowling is not something that gets as much attention in the sports world as other sports do. However, every once in a while you may see a PBA event on ESPN or some other channel. Over the last couple of months I have found myself covering quite a bit of bowling. It all started two years ago when I covered the 2011 NCAA Bowling Championship at Skore Lanes in Taylor, MI. Then, after that, the PBA found me and asked me to cover their Detroit Winter Swing. Recently, I found myself once again covering the 2013 NCAA Bowling Championship. This time it was at Super Bowl Lanes in Canton, MI.
