Last week I was blessed with being able to shoot six basketball games in 7 days. Below are a few images from the games. I was also able to make ESPN’s NBA photos of the week with the pictures right after the jump. Be sure to check more images from the games here, here, and here.

The last game the Red Wings lost at their home rink, the Joe Louis Arena, was just days after Halloween on November 3rd, 2011. Since that time they have been able to win all of their 20 home games. Tomorrow they will be going for an all new record of winning 21 home games in a row. Here are a few images from some of the victories since November 3rd.
Now that school has started back up I find myself shooting less and studying more. I don’t like it but just have to remind myself that it is for only 15 weeks. It also occurred to me that there are people in Nicaragua (and all over the world) that would love to go to college if only they could afford it. It made me realized that even though I dislike it so much, that I am truly blessed to be able to have this hardship of all the work and stress that college brings. Anyways, here is some recent work I was able to do, four basketball games in 30 hours.
I had the opportunity to photograph the the Great Lakes Invitational for Michigan Tech University. It was cool to be able to do it because a few years ago I went as a fan. When I was there as a fan I think I watched the photographers more than I did the games, but I learned a lot by watching them. For example, I never knew they used strobes up in the catwalk, which is kind of ironic because this was the first time I set up a remote in the catwalks. Tip: Don’t look down!
Yesterday I was blessed to be able to photographer the Detroit Lions as they hosted the Minnesota Vikings. This was a must win game for the Lions to keep all hope a live for a chance at the playoffs. They came out strong and in the end it was up to the defense to make a HUGH stop, and they did! Be sure to check out more pictures here.
This past weekend I was blessed to be able to once again head over to Michigan State in East Lansing. This time I was working for the University of Nebraska-Omaha as they took on Tom Izzo and the Spartans. UNO is in it’s first year of Division I basketball and this was their biggest game yet. Here are a few images from the game and be sure to check out the gallery.
This past week was a crazy one at that. Super busy but that is a good thing for sure. I started off on Black Friday shooting for Utah Valley University as they faced Oakland University. More of those pictures here. The last three games were for US Presswire. The 2nd game was the Nashville Predators at the Detroit Red Wings. More of those pictures here. The 3rd game I went to Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti. EMU was hosting Michigan State University. More of those pictures here. And lastly I went back to Rochester, MI to photograph Tennessee at Oakland University. Turned out to be a great game! More of those pictures here. Also, be sure to click on “Read More” to see more!
I recently had the great opportunity to travel over to East Lasning, MI and photograph the University of Arkansas Little Rock as they took on Michigan State University at the Breslin Center. I was glad to be able to shoot the game because basketball is one of my favorite sports to photograph. I was shooting for the UALR and also for US Presswire. The Spartans defeated the Trojans with a 69-47 victory.

How could it be any better? Photography, Hockey, 11/11/11, Veterans Day! This was the case last Friday. I was able to photograph the Edmonton Oilers as they took on the Detroit Red Wings at the Joe Louis Arena in downtown Detroit. To add to the great day, Jimmy Howard had his third shutout of the season. Below are a few images from the game and be sure to check out more by clicking here.
This past weekend I was fortune enough to photograph the final game of the 2011 Big Ten Men’s Soccer Championship at the University of Michigan. The Penn State Nittany Lions and the Northwestern Wildcats were the two teams competing for the title. It was a very enjoyable game, it was a very windy day but the rain stayed away until after the game! In the end though, the Wildcats came out on top. Below are a few images from the game and here are some more.
