This past weekend I once again had the opportunity to work with the Professional Bowling Association (PBA). It was last year that I first had this great opportunity to work with them when they came to Detroit. It seems whenever there is a bowling event in town you can find me there, whether it is the NCAA Championship or the PBA. So, when the PBA asked me to cover this year’s event I was more than glad to do it.
This year the event was at Thunderbowl Lanes in Allen Park, MI. I was there for three days while ESPN was taping their shows. There were four league quarterfinals, two league semifinals, a Super Clash match-up and the Tournament of Champions. With over 2,000 images to go through, here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!
During the three day event, the PBA used some new technology to increase the fan’s experience. One thing that they did was have Jason Belmonte use Google Glasses to give a first person view as seen here. They also used a new oil on the lanes that appeared blue. As the bowlers bowled the blue oil would disappeared allowing fans to easily see how they were playing the lanes.
