I love this time of year. The weather is so nice out and what better way to get outdoors and shoot some softball. Being that baseball was the first sport I started photographing, I always enjoy going out to shoot some baseball and/or softball. I was fortunate enough to be able to photograph Oakland CC host St. Clair County Community College (SC4) in a double header. The two teams both took a game to split the series. Here are a few photos to share from the games.
As a photographer granted access to the prestigious USBC Masters tournament held at Thunderbowl Lanes, I knew I needed to focus on capturing the emotions of the bowlers, including their expressions of triumph or defeat, as well as high-fives and other celebratory gestures. Along with the action on the lanes, I captured the atmosphere of the tournament by taking photos of the fans, scoreboard, and ambiance of Thunderbowl Lanes. Overall, with the right gear, lighting, and techniques, I was able to capture some amazing images of the world’s best bowlers in action and hope these tips can help you capture equally amazing photos at your next sporting event.
